Princess Purna

Well I think Purna is excited to show her doctor how well she has been healing the last two weeks. We made our thank you cards and a little gift baket for her two doctor tonight. Not that you can ever come close to thanking them enough but well give it a try. I did make them photo coffee mugs. For her plastic surgen I put the bone ct scan on there and for the nuero I put her brain scan on the mug. I bet that's going to be a first for them.

Purna felt pretty good today. We had some melt downs with some diaper changes but thats it. She hates hates to have her diaper changed. She never use to mind and now she does. Not sure why. I pulledl more stiches out of her head today. They are just breaking out. I'm really happy they are coming out tomorrow. That should be intresting cutting them out. This is were I need daddy. Let's see a face report, all visual brusing is gone. Her eyes still tight but getting better day by day. I will ask the doc tomorrow how long it will take to have them to were they will be. I'll let you all know so you don't loose sleep over it.
So I have said this before but all my family and friends have been so amazing to us. It has made this experance sooooo much easier to have all of you. I will pay if foward in the future, I promise.
Here are some more wonderful things Purna revived in the mail today.

A fabulous photo book of all our Red Bluff friends wishing Purna get well. So good to see everybody faces. Thanks so much Kristen that was so thoughtful and creative. We love it!!!!!!!!

Picking Purna

Well Purna was great today. We did some rose pruning in the back yard. However really not intrested in sleeping again. She is not wanting to go to be tell like ten. I'm not sure want the deal is but she is just on fire and wants to go crazy and play. So we played more cup and ball on the table. I wonder if it's her antibiotics? Who knows...

Her stiches are really breaking now. I even pulled a few out. They are just sticking up all over. I can't wait to get them cut out. I bet she can't either. She is defenently looking more like herself. Her eyes are still pulled kinda tight. You can't see her eyelids yet. A tiny bit on the left eye. I just really had no idea what to expect. They tell you things like what they are going to do but it's either to much info at once or you just don't get it. I know I said this before but it's very very strange to all of a sudden have your baby look different. I mean she is still the cutest thing ever.

I'm really trying to feed her alot. I think she has put back on a little weight. Or I'm just getting use to it. Not sure. There is almost no hint of brusing on her face anymore. Tomorrow will be two weeks. She is really back on track(other than the sleeping) for just two weeks. It's amazing.

Not alot to report today, just happy healing Purna. Here are her shots and video for the day.

Here is her new trick she learned while eating. All you parents I bet you have "never" seen this before. (ya right)

Purna's Peeps

These are Pruna's peeps. They have the same doctor as Purna so they were hanging today talking about they heads. These adorable little girls are Brents (very good friend of ours who loves Purna dearly) neices. They came over today to show Purna their new helmets and Purna wanted to show them her scar. Purna loves other kids and babies so she had a great time with the twins.

Purna hung home today again and just relaxed. Not alot of napping going on that's for sure. It's 9 o'clock now and she is still up parting. I think she is all hopped up on antibiotics. She is playing roll golf ball and yell into cup. I want her to play close your eyes... Night night. Did not get her to bed tell ten.

The good news is her cut is looking pretty good. Alot less red then yesterday. Nine more days of hiding her meds in her food. She was a good girl today. We took two walks one in morning and one after dinner. She really enjoys this. Doing just great.

She just has a tiny spot of bruse left on her face. By the time she gets home only the inside healing will be left. In about six weeks the bones in her face should be pretty suck together and solid. Apperently babies bones heal very fast. It will take about two years though for the gap in her skull to close. I feel like she needs a little bike helmet for play time. I'm very nervous for her to fall. She can't take a wack to the head like other babies her age. But she is not the first baby to have this done and they get threw it, we just have to be carful for a while. She will be just fine. Well I have less and less to report each day. This means good things for Purna.

Another point with convition by Purna. To bad this is not an Olympic sport. Just look at her form and finger postion. And the foucus come on!

Purna checking out the helmet wishing she had one too. She loves her new cute buddies.

Another "thiller" of a video clip. Get ready! I tried for some degawls in this footage. I got some but not her finest performance.

Pretty Purna

Purna was a pretty happy girl today. She did stay home all day today. This was the first day in a bit she stayed home. Me however did get to go out to dinner with some friends. I got home at about 9:30 and as soon as the front door opened she started crying and woke up. She is only sleeping in her crib for about and hour or two then it's in bed with me. I'll work on getting her back in her crib when we get home. I don't think she ready to be crying for long periods of time yet. Joe went home yesterday for the week and will come back next week and get us. Were doing fine so he headed home to catch up on work.

So we had a bit of a set back today. Purna's cut is looking a bit red and a little infected. I called Purna's doctor and told her and she put her back on antibiotics for another ten days. She was only off them for one day and it flared up so back to it. She has to take these one 4 times a day and more each time. This is not going to make a happy Purna. I have been putting it in her food which is working great. So hopfully it will not look worse in the morning but the same or better. She does not need an infection in her head. We bought a triple antibiotic cream to go on top as well. She should be good in a day or two. That is not something you want to mess around with. You can kinda see the red in the pictures. Alot of her stiches are breaking now too. Hope that is ok.

I did give her one hit of the old tylenol today. It's just so hard to tell if she is just fussy or uncomfortable. Or she is fussing because she is uncomfortable.I usally go with uncomfortable just in case. But she has only been about once a day with that. She seems for the most part comfortable, unless you touch her head then she has somthing to say about it.

I feel like she might have put a little bit if weight back on. I need to weigh her again. It's like she lost muscle tone too. She just feels so petie went I hold her. I also saw some very noticable changes in her eyes today. The right eye on the inside is not beening pulled over so tight. Super suddel I know but I study her face all day. She just has now a little hint of her black eye left. When she shuts her eyes they look really pulled up and her eyelashes kinda flip up. Kinda like went we use to scotch tape are eyes up and then your lids sort of flips up... Or wait did anybody elese do that?

Four more days tell her post opp check up. I hope she passes. She will have to see the docs again in three months then in six months then once a year tell she is six years old. They really keep a close watch on their kids. There is a small percentage of kids that have to have a second surgery but I say no way! I don't think she would be one of them as long as all the healing goes as planed.

So Purna is still healing along and other than her cut getting red she is still doing great. She does already miss her daddy. She did wake up this morning saying dada. (and Im not making that up to make you feel bad Joe) I guess while daddy is gone I'll just have to turn her back into MOMMIES girl!! And I miss Joe too! Thanks all Purna's Peeps for checking in on her!

I'm telling you people gets some popcorn because this footage is just action packed. It dose however showcase her new word. If I was going to try to spell it it would be ..... Heda.... Kinda sounds like hey dad. Sorry Shelly no Degawls. I will try for that tomorrow.

Peacful Purna

Clearly I am the first one to realize that Purna has a binki addiction. We are going to seek some prefessional help when she is fully healed and wants to stop for herself and not us. I think we might have to go on the show intervention. I'll tell you what though, seeing my little peacful Purna sleeping comfortably away is the best feeling ever!

She is feeling great and this makes me feel amazing. She still has swelling on her eyes and they are still a bit brused. They are still pulled quite tight, again due to the swelling and stiches in her eyes. They are also still pretty uneven. The doctor did tell us this was normal and as they healed they will become more even. If they don't loosen up I'm going to see about a discount on the surgery. Don't worry they will. Alot of her stiches are still breaking free. Its like the Hulk ripping his shirt off but is Purna's brain busting the stiches because its getting so big and smart. Her cut just looks better every day. Her little healing cells are just go go go 24 4 7. She is still eating really well and nursing is back to normal. Here is my theory on why she was not nursing well. When she sucks I can see her soft spot on her head move in and out a bit. I think there proably was some type of suction pressure in her head that did not feel good. She would start and then and then quickly stop. Now that she is healed a bit is not a problem. Who knows I'm just glad she is back to eating. She has some weight to put back on.

We went on a after dinner neiborhood walk this evening. She loves that because as we all know Purna is a very skilled pointer. There were many things that were point worthy on our walk tonight. Purna did go in her pajamas, hope the neibors did not mind I mean it's not like we went to Walmart in our pajamas. And no I was not in my pajamas.

I'm pretty sure all this "new" room in Purna's head for her brain has already made her much smarter. We now have a new fun trick she can do. It's called "wash your hands" she has been watching all of us day in and out sanitize our hands and now when we do it she copies us. She will rub her hand together like she to is washing her hands. Not to be confused with "start a fire" this is a completely different trick. I'm pretty sure she learned to "copy" from her dad. I'm now very excited about all the tricks she will be doing. Also she is finaly starting to do some of the sign Languge I taught her. The sign for finished is puting your hands up and twist your wrist. She is now doing this sign as soon as I put her dinner bowl down when were "finished " or when she is "finished" eating. And she has now figured out that she can be "finished" with alot of things she dose not want to do like diaper changes and cleaning her head.
I'm always looking forward to what new things she is going to do tomorrow.

Never to young to appreciate shoes.

Bath time in the kitchen sink.

You can see in this shot how her eyes still have healing to do and are still uneven.I'm not really sure how close to even they will get.

I'm going super blogger and adding video. This is two of Purnas tricks in one video.
