I wish it was me

I would give anythig to switch places with Purna right now. She is doing well though. She is getting sleep but gets pretty uncomfortably after she wakes up. She can barley open her eyes anymore. She is really starting to swell up now. She downed a bottle of apple juice though. She is hungry but we want to stick with clear liquids right now. Her voice is very horse from the breathing tube so it sounds like she is struggling to breath, but she is not. They will take half her lines out in the morning so that will be good. Joe and I are doing fine but very tired. I had a bit a a freak out when I first saw her when she was trying to wake up from the sedation. She was trying hard to sit up and it sounded like she was barking. I was not prepared for the sound of her voice so it scared me very much. Tonight Joe and I will take shifts sitting by her holding her had. When she wakes up she need a bit of calming down so hear heart rate does not go up to high. I will take some photos for you all tomorrow to show you how she is looking. Tomorrow and thrusday are going to be her worst days with swelling and pain. They are very good with managing her pain though so don't worry. Thanks so much for all your suport today. I read each and every one of your post and text. They really did help distract me from the day and make us feel good. I will post again tomorrow. Purna thanks you all.

  1. Oh Heather your post brought me to flooding tears but it's a good thing, maybe read or sing to her to pass the time away during shifts? The sound of your voices will do wonders for her, and your touch and smell as you already know.....love you guys, may the next few days fly by for you!!!

  2. I agree with Corri, Heather! Purna knows that you & Joe are by her side. Know that you'll both feel better when you all get out of the hospital on Saturday. Mari
